my beloved Renault ~

Renault has been associated with Formula One as both constructors and engine suppliers for various periods since 1977. It was in 1977 that the company entered Formula One as a constructor, introducing the turbo engine to Formula One in their first car, theRenault RS01. Although the Renault team won races and competed for world titles, it withdrew at the end of 1985. Renault continued its involvement as a supplier of engines to other teams, which it had started doing in 1983, until 1986, and again from 1989 to 1997.
Renault returned to Formula One in 2000 when they acquired the Enstone-based Benetton Formula team (formerly Toleman Motorsport), a team which had won the drivers' championship in 1994 and both the drivers' and constructors' championships in 1995. For the first two seasons under Renault the team continued to be called "Benetton Formula" and used "Benetton" as their constructor name. In 2002 Renault rebranded the team as the "Renault F1 Team" and started to use "Renault" as its constructor name. Under this Renault guise, the Enstone team won the drivers' and constructors' championships in 2005 and 2006.
At the end of 2009, the Renault car company sold a 75% stake in the team to the Genii Capital investment company.[1] At the end of 2010, Renault sold its remaining 25% share to Genii, which then decided to enter into an alignment with Group Lotus.
For the 2011 Formula One season the team competed under the name Lotus Renault GP,[2] which was the last year that the name "Renault" was used as a constructor name in Formula One.
Following the withdrawal of the Renault car company and the increased involvement of Lotus, the Enstone team was renamed to Lotus F1 Team in 2012. The team continues to be coordinated from its UK base at Enstone, Oxfordshire where the chassis are designed and built. The team continues to use engines supplied by Renault through their Renault Sport F1 enterprise in Viry-Châtillon near Paris.
Renault has also supplied engines to other teams, including Team Lotus (1983–1987), Benetton Formula (1995–1997) and Williams F1 (1989–1997). As an engine supplier, Renault has contributed to eight drivers' world championships (19921993199519961997,20102011 and 2012 won by Nigel MansellAlain ProstMichael SchumacherDamon HillJacques Villeneuve and Sebastian Vettelrespectively) and nine constructors' world championships (19921997 and 20102012) as engine supplier for Benetton Formula, Williams F1 and Red Bull Racing. The engine supply has continued during periods when Renault was not active as a constructor in its own right.

Fernando Alonso: McLaren target Ferrari driver for next season

McLaren want Fernando Alonso to rejoin them next season and have made the Ferrari driver their prime target.

With the Spaniard unsettled at Ferrari, McLaren hope to persuade him to return to a team he drove for in 2007.
Asked if he wanted the double world champion, McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh said: "Yes, any team would. He's the best driver."
But he added: "I don't know his contractual situation. I assume he's under contract."
If McLaren signed Alonso, he would replace Mexican Sergio Perez given that Jenson Button is under contract and will stay on.
When asked if a return to McLaren was tempting, Alonso said: "Not really. I love Ferrari and I will stay at Ferrari until the end [of my contract].
"It's nice to hear comments from all the team principals every year saying they respect my job and personality, especially McLaren.
"There were so many rumours that we had a lot of problems that year [2007] but I always said that there are no problems with anyone, it was just the philosophy of the team, especially one man in the team that is not there [anymore].
"It is good to have these comments but there is no intention. I have three more years with Ferrari and I hope many more to come if we can extend the contract and that would be my hope."

My Favourite Football Team

From 1928/29, at Les Corts, to 2012/13, at the Camp Nou, FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad have met in 66 league matches in Catalonia. And the home side have an impressive record, winning no fewer than 56 of those matches, with seven draws and just three wins for the side from San Sebastian. Their last win came on May 18, 1991, when Aldrige (2) and Atkinson sparked celebrations in the Basque Country (1-3).
Barça are currently on a magnificent 15 match winning streak at home to ‘La Real’. Last term under Tito Vilanova, they won thanks to goals from Puyol, Messi (2), Pedro and Villa, with a consolation effort for the visitors converted by Chory Castro.
Champions League opponent
The side coached by Jagoba Arrasate will be at the Camp Nou on Tuesday (20.00) looking to change history. This season, they are coming as a Champions League club, although their campaign got off to a sorry start with 2-0 defeat at home to Shakhtar Donetsk. In La Liga, they have just one win, three draws and one defeat.B
arça made it five wins out of five with an impressive win at Rayo this evening thanks to a Pedro hat trick and another brilliant performance from Víctor Valdés, who stopped his second penalty in two games when he scores were just 0-1.The win gives Tata Martino’s side 15 points from a possible 15 so far this season.
Early chancesIt was an even enough first half, with Rayo making some good early chances – only to come up against the in-form Victor Valdes, who made his first great stop of the night after just three minutes from a Perea header. Immediately after that, Messi beat two defenders and rounded the keeper, only for a last ditch tackle from Arbilla to deny him the opener.
It was an exciting start to the game and the Vallecas crowd was making itself heard as the chances continued to come thick and fast. On nine minutes Cesc and Xavi combined to set up Neymar, whose effort was just deflected wide by a Rayo defender. Barça were looking more and more comfortable on the ball and on 19 minutes, Messo beat three men and laid on another chance for Neymar, who this time saw his shot go just wide.
Pedro pops up for his first.......Rayo were pressing high up the pitch and on 21 minutes that nearly produced results, when Montoya was harried into a hurried back pass which caught Valdes wrong footed and nearly resulted in an own goal. Fortunately, the ball went just wide and the game stayed goalless until just past the half hour when Messi led a counter attack and set up Pedro who slotted home from the right hand side of the box. The Spanish forward nearly doubled the lead straight after, when he tried to chip the keeper, which just went over.
... and Valdés saves a pen again!Rayo bounced back from the goal though and threw everything forward. With ten minutes to go in the first half, Adriano jumped into Trashorras in the box and the ref blew for a penalty, which the Rayo captain stepped up to take himself. Victor Valdes is in great form right now though and just three days after saving another in the game against Ajax, he brilliantly stopped this one and kept  Barça ahead at the break.
Before the half time whistle Barça had a good shout for a penalty themselves, when Pedro appeared to be brought down in the box. The ref made no mistake soon after though when he showed Baena a yellow for a clattering tackle on Messi and Adriano also needed treatment before the break after a clash of heads with Bueno.
Early second half goalTwo minutes into the second half, Barça were ahead after Pedro got his second, Xavi slotted Cesc through down the left and his pinpoint cross to the far post was tapped in by Pedro
The two goal cushion gave Barça the chance to make even more chances, even though Rayo also continued to threaten Valdes’ goal. Messi came close with two quick efforts just after the hour and Neymar was also unlucky with an effort that went just inches wide of the post.
Pedro made no mistake though and when Neymar set him up for a close range shot he claimed his hat trick, just before he was subbed by Iniesta. Rayo keeper Ruben kept out Messi soon after, after a great combination with Neymar and then Cesc made it four when Xavi won the ball in midfield and set up his fellow Catalan midfielder to fire home.
Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino then brought on Tello and Dos Santos for Neymar and Xavi, before Valdes again made  a great stop as Rayo tried for their consolation goal.

That made it five wins from five, with next up Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou on Tuesday.
